This is an updated and revised edition of my old site. A lot has happened since I first put that site up. I found my
birth family in April 1998. Things did not turn out at all as I expected.
For the story of my search and find please click here. I am updating all the links that were on the links and more links pages. A
lot of them are out of date and don't work anymore. If you have a site that you
would like linked here, or know of a good one with adoption information please send the
URL here.
I hate to say this, but I haven't really been keeping up with what is going on with adoption reform if anything. I
have been trying really hard to forget about all things related to adoption. I
realize that this is selfish and that there are a lot of people out there who need help in
their searches. If it had not been for the information and help that I
received from the internet I probably never would have found my birth family, which in some ways would
have been for the best, but that is another story and is covered in my story. One of the best places for help and support I
found was in the Adult Adoptees Chat Room at wbs. Unfortunately wbs has
shut down. I am trying to find another good chat room at the
present. My best suggestion at the moment would be to try the
Adult Adoptees Room at BigBobs. The people in that room were very
knowledgeable and very supportive. I don't go there much anymore, and when I do I see a lot of new faces, but as far as I can
tell they are more nice people.
As far as I know the UAA is still in the working. This is the worse thing that could ever happen to adoptees or birth parents. The Uniform
Adoption Act would seal adoption records for 99 years and in most cases make it a felony
to search for information. I don't know how something like this could ever pass, but
there are a lot of people pushing for it. These are mostly the people who think that
open adoption laws promote abortion. I just can't seem to get a grip on that line of
thought, it just doesn't make any sense. I do not believe that open adoption laws
are going to make more women have abortions. What is needed to stop abortion is more
teaching of the Word of God and higher moral standards for our law makers who legalize it.
Adoption laws play no part in abortion issues. If you want to read the UAA
(it is really long and very confusing) click here.
I've taken away some things from this site, and added some others to it. I had a lot of complaints about the colors that I used before. I
hope these new ones are less offensive. Please drop me a line and let me know what
you think of the new look. Send comments HERE.
I wish you all the best in your search and you reunion.
